Bold Linocut Design in Three Steps

75.00

Flow from photo, to sketch, to bold design and hone your composition skills

The key to a great linocut print starts with design. This workshop focus is on how shapes can describe light and shadow. We will begin by exploring the compositional choices behind Vallotton’s 19th Century woodcut prints, then using our discoveries, create three types of compositions ready to transfer to a linoleum block or woodblock.

If you want to learn how to simplify your images, or never worry about “working in reverse” when planning a linocut, this workshop is for you!
