Maximize your block: Multicolor Linocut Printmaking

Get the most out of your block by printing colors at different carving stages. From using flats to plan colorful linocuts, to creating a “limited-edition” set of prints for a select group of friends or family. If you want to plan each stage of a colorful print, register correctly every time and calculate the most cost-efficient way of linocut printmaking, this workshop is for you!

In this workshop, we will:

  • learn to register block and paper to print multiple colors
  • use color flats to plan each carving and printing stage
  • create a multicolor print using three layers

As a result of this workshop, you will know how to:

  • successfully plan a colorful print from beginning to end
  • create new colors by overlapping translucent colors
  • learn to register your block and paper for correct alignment every time

    Participants take home:

  • their image, color flats, and linoleum block
  • six limited-edition prints (one from each participant) in a portfolio
  • free resource guide and material list to continue at home
